Joyce University Streamlines Clinical Scheduling and Compliance with CORE ELMS

Hi, my name is Brittney Cooper. I'm the Director of Clinical Relations and Administration at Joyce University. We currently represent ASN, BSN, and MSN nursing programs. We were looking to solve the challenge of needing multiple different reports and spreadsheets to get our scheduling process off the ground, and we were also looking to find a more cohesive way that the students could view their schedules rather than having to go to multiple places. We ultimately chose CORE ELMS because of excellent references. What stands out to me most about Core is phenomenal support from our client success manager. Every time we need help, every time we want to add something, every time we ask about changing something, he's always available to help us. He always gets back to us very quickly and it's always very tailored to exactly how we're doing it which is often I understand different than how other universities may be doing things. But the flexibility that using both and hand slotting offers is one of my favorite features with Core. In the clinical environment, everything is changing. Our clinical side partners lead the way and they require flexibility and we require a system that will have that flexibility as well. The impact the course had on our student experience is that we have greater student satisfaction. There's not confusion on where to see their rotation schedule, on where to find all of their information, and it's created a smoother process. Along with the site specific requirements section in CORE, we also have extensive notes within CORE ELMS about our affiliation agreements, upcoming contract renewals, all the things, and so we're able to stay very organized, we're able to stay on track having everything funnel into this one system. I would tell another institution using CORE to check out the references. We found CORE to have excellent references. We found a lot of help in asking other institutions what they were using and why they enjoyed it, and that helped make our decision. It also helped give us ideas and suggestions for things we hadn't even thought of and ways that we could use core that we didn't even realize we could. There are a lot of great resources provided by the team, and if you follow those step by step and really put the time into learning the system, it is a very user friendly system and it's very easy to train your teams, and it does not take that long to get it going very smoothly. So I would say that it is a great experience, that there's great customer support, that we've been very happy, but to also do that research for yourself and you'll come to the same conclusion.
